It's so hard getting kids to look at the camera at the same time...but we tried! Our babies are getting so big, it happens so quickly! Hayden is 7 1/2 months and Benjamin's 2 1/2...and they are a lot of fun. Hayden's the only infant I know that can growl and Benjamin the only toddler I know that can recite all the lyrics to Mary Poppins. They keep us laughing! I just love how unique their little personalities are thus far-it's such a joy to see them grow and discover new things each day!

I know, I know....it's been a ridiculously long time since I've posted anything on this blog! Even after I promised to be better at it...but what can I say, life's been busy! A quick recap: We (I) delivered a very healthy little girl on August 25th, 2008. Hayden Elizabeth Jones was born weighing 9 lbs and 8 oz. Very healthy indeed! Benjamin turned two on September 21, 2008. We're now learning how to do life with two little ones. It's a challenge, a joy, and completely frustrating all at the same time! Those kiddos have wonderfully changed our lives. Nathan is finishing up his LAST two classes at DTS!!! Praise the Lord! Our hope is to move back to Missouri once he's finished (Lord willing we sell our house!). That's our life thus far. Here are some new pics to enjoy.

Happy Easter

We went to an Easter Egg hunt in Rowlett, TX! Benjamin was a ham and enjoyed every minute of sitting with the Easter Bunny. Picking up Easter eggs didn't appeal too much, but climbing in a nearby tree made his day! I'm not sure who was more excited about the hunt-the parents or kids! I was shocked at how grabby some of those moms and dads were with the eggs!

Ok, so Benjamin experienced his first time at good ole' Chuck E Cheese's! We all needed a day out and Nathan & I had some fond memories of "Show Biz" as kids...so we thought Ben needed the experience as well. We got there about 4:45 on a Saturday afternoon, and were very thankful we got there early! The only table available was in the toddler zone, perfect for us! Benjamin had a great time climbing up and down the jungle gym, going down the slide, and putting tokens in the machines! He'd ride this silly Barney train and when it was finished he say, "again, again"!I have never seen a place so crowded, but we all had about an 1 & 45 minutes worth of family fun!!! I have to say, it's not like it used to be...they sure don't give you as many tickets as they used to for skee-ball.

My sister's boyfriend Lyle, is an amazing photographer. He happened to have some of his equipment with him and set it up in my parents garage to take some random shots...and well, we set Benjamin on the stool and the first thing he said was, "Cheese" and began clapping. He's a ham who apparently likes being photographed.

We had some problems getting to see Santa this year, so we had to make do with a stuffed one my mom had on her front porch. This picture turned out pretty cute, we'll try again next year...but not at Metro North Mall!

We were in Kansas City visiting Nathan's family for Christmas and were lucky enough to get some snow! These pictures are of Benjamin's first time "playing" in the snow. I personally think the best part is his snowsuit...very cute. He couldn't move very much but that made it all the funnier.

I'll try and be more diligent about keeping this blog updated with recent pictures and information! Our latest news is that we're expecting again! I'm 14 weeks pregnant and have been nauseated since day one! Although, on a positive note, I'm finally off the nausea medicine!!! This kiddo is due August 22, 2008-we're probably crazy having them this close together...guess we'll wait and see. They will be 23 months apart! I'm thinking we'll find out this baby's gender because I like to plan ahead! While I'm rooting for a girl, we'd be equally happy with a healthy baby boy. Four more weeks and we'll let you know. :)

Happy Halloween! He loved this dragon costume! Unfortunately, I had to work on Halloween. Nathan and some friends from church took the kids out-Benjamin was the youngest-but apparently caught on quickly. Nathan said he had a hard time prying the candy he collected out of his hand! Like we were really going to let him eat it!

Okay, It has been ridiculously long since I last posted anything. Life has just gotten so busy! Benjamin is now 17 months old...he's into everything, talking up a storm, and a tremendous joy to us! We're having so much fun with him, it's hard to believe he's not such a little baby anymore. This picture is of his first haircut....I love that dimple.

Our New Car!!

Praise the Lord! He has provided us with a new reliable vehicle! We just got a 2006 Honda CRV. It's so nice to drive a nice car. We're praying that Nathan's car holds out a little longer so we can put off getting a second new vehicle! :) No kidding, he's got the seats held together with duck tape and the odometer quick working years ago. We've no idea how many miles are on that thing!!! But it continues to pass inspection, so we continue to drive it! Here are a couple pics of the new car and of Benjamin riding in the new car. The kid kicks off any blanket you put on him, so we got him one he can't take off when it's cold!

Our Not so Golden Retriever

Ok, I'm just absolutely sick of sweeping up dog hair! I love our dog, but I'm tired of it getting all over Benjamin and his pacifiers and other baby gear. So, I took the dog to Petco today and had him shaved. He went in looking like a golden retriever and came out looking like a poodle/lab. I asked them not to cut his head hair and to please blend in neck...they didn't do what I asked and trimmed his ears, so he looks like he has a bob. We'll see if the shaving keeps the shedding at bay. Here's a pic of the cut,it really is bad.

We find these pictures hilarious. You can tell that he wants so badly to turn the wheels on his exersaucer, but just can't quite work his little hands the way he'd like to. I love his furrowed brow...and I love it even more that he tries so hard! :)

Rice Cereal

Ok, so Benjamin is 4 months old now. He's 16 lbs and getting fatter every day! I love it!! We had our 4 month check up on Monday. He's growing way too fast! He's now 26 1/2 inches long-it's amazing how many inches that kid can grow in a months time!! :) The Dr said it was time to start feeding him rice cereal twice a day...not Benjamin's favorite thing. He's not quite sure what to do with the stuff and I don't blame him...have you tasted rice cereal??? It tastes like the box it comes in! We're working on swallowing, right now he just sort of smiles at me and pushes the stuff out of his mouth with his tongue. We'll get there, next month we start fruits...maybe he'll like that a little better.

Wow! Time has flown by me! Benjamin is getting so big, so fast-we can hardly keep up! Hmmm..where to start. We went to Missouri for Thanksgiving and Christmas and got to see some much missed family. Benjamin met his great grandparents for the first time! My Dad came back from Baghdad and was introduced to his new grandson! Our car died in Eufaula Oklahoma a few days before Christmas. Thankfully, a battery change in an O'Reilly's parking lot and AAA got us home safely, unfortunately, my car had seen it's last trip to and from Texas. What else...I'm working part-time now, so I can be home as much as possible with my precious little boy. Nathan's started a new semester at the Seminary and is still teaching part-time at a Christian school. We've been married three years now-hard to believe. We're starting to like Texas a little bit-but don't tell anyone. Really it's just the people here and our church. We're looking forward to 2007 and it's new beginnings. We're praying we make the most of this year!

Our very fussy baby settled down almost immediately after Nathan started playing the piano for him!! Is it a coincidence that Nathan happened to be playing Benjamin a song he'd written for me?? Hmmm...we think he's going to grow up and be a musical genius.:)No pressure or anything.......

Adidas Outfit

Elizabeth, Benjamin, and I were getting ready to go to White Rock Lake yesterday, and it was pretty cold (for Texas). We bundled Benjamin up in a new Adidas outfit that Lisa (E's Mom) gave us. He looked pretty cute, so we took some pictures, and we actually got him smiling in a couple of them. He has red eyes in the picture, but that's not really what his eyes look like. I assure you that his pupils are black just like every other human being. However, the unwanted redness does help to offset the blueness of his eyes, which we like very much.

We stopped in Springfield at the end of October, to see Andrew at MSU and introduce him to his new nephew!! Benjamin looks so small compared to the enormous bear mascot and tall Andrew!! Ironically enough Benjamin was wearing a Mizzou onesie!!

We were in Missouri a couple weeks ago for a wedding. It was a super-quick trip, but we really enjoyed the fall weather and the colors of the trees! We don't get much of that in Dallas-every tree pretty much turned brown in June....anyway, my sister's very talented boyfriend took some pictures of Benjamin in his pumpkin outfit. Benjamin looks more like a carrot than a pumpkin, but he was pretty cute, a little fussy, but adorable!

Wow! Time flies by so quickly! It's hard to believe that I was pregnant 7 weeks ago! We are adjusting to our new life with little Benjamin. Nathan and I are much more confident as parents then we were a few weeks ago! We were blessed with a very precious little boy-who is so much fun. It was hard at first, but he started smiling at 5 weeks and let me tell you, when your baby responds to you for the first time it is an amazing feeling! He's cooing at us and kicks his arms and legs out when he gets excited...it's precious. I'm dreading going back to work, I'm going to miss him too much. Who knew you could love someone so much...God is good. N's close to finishing this semester at Dallas Theological Seminary-we'll enjoy some family time in Missouri over the holidays. We're looking forward to a break! :) This is our first attempt at "blogging", we thought it'd be a good way to catch everyone up with what's going on in our lives and for us to share some pictures with everyone!
